New Kitchen Toy: Tupperware Can Opener + Review

One of the things I truly enjoyed after getting married and moving in to a condo 6 years ago was buying anything for the kitchen. As simple as a spoon or a new set of pots was a source of happiness. Haha! Was it pregnancy hormones? Or maybe it was a start of my being a tita?

Fastforward to today, the kitchen remains to be one of my favorite in our home. I don't really cook well but I like our kitchen to be pretty and neat. I was obsessed with plates for awhile (a lot of my friends know this!), I've stopped buying because I don't have a place for them anymore. Now, I'm trying to declutter fix our kitchen yet again. I need new pans! But here's something that has been in my wishlist for so long, a new can opener!!! And I was so happy when I received a Tupperware's Can Opener in the mail!
Tupperware's Can Opener isn't your ordinary can opener. Say goodbye to accidentally cutting your finger from lifting up that stubborn lid. I've scratched and cut myself a few times and the cut is usually deep and really hurts. With Tupperware's Can Opener, it lifts the lid away from the can and leaves no sharp edges after opening!
It looks simple but don't be intimidated because it's actually easy to use.

What I learned from this can opener is that, not all cans are made the same pala! Some didn't work with this kind of can opener like a can of pineapple tidbits, I had to use the normal can opener. I tried the can opener on a can of pork and beans.
Put the edge of the can in between the two circles, put the handles together and wind it!

When you hear a click, that means you can already remove the lid. But I wasn't able to remove the lid the first time (not reading instructions kasi!), I had to wind the can again for a second time and used a knife to remove the lid. I felt disappointed then I watched the video (you can see it down down below) again and that's when I figured it out.
The can opener has a small clip in front which you can use to lift the lid. TADAHHHH!
See those smooth edges? Opening a can has never been more easy!

Different cans have different lids. So far I've been very successful on opening our canned good except for a can of pineapples which I had a hard time using this can opener. But other than that, I love Tupperware's Can Opener! I still have to convince our helper to use this instead of our old one because I seriously want to throw our old one away na. Haha!

Sharing with you Tupperware's video on its new can opener!

Belo Baby Review and Giveaway!

It has been a month since the Belo Baby launch and we have been religiously using the Belo Baby Hair and Body Wash and Face and Body Lotion ever since! It's really been hot the last few weeks and the kids have been taking more baths than usual. All I can say is Belo Baby works wonders on our skin!
The Belo Baby line is available at leading groceries in Metro Manila!

The first time we tried the body wash and face and body lotion was on our trip to Narra Hill. Our trip was just a few days after the launch so I excitedly pack them in our overnighter bag.
Belo Baby up in the mountains! I hope they'll come out with travel-sizes!

Y is always excited for bath time. Since I am helper-less, I've been training Y to be more independent and one of the things I am training her is to learn to take a bath on her own. Start them young, right? My kids were used to using baby shampoo that bubbles so when Y tried the Belo Baby Hair and Body Wash, she was surprised why it wasn't bubbly. I explained to her that Belo Baby's has natural ingredients (like special leaves and flowers, heehee). She likes the scent, she said she smells like a baby! Haha! I really like the mild scent too!
I like how the bar soap is shaped like a bean!
I usually don't put lotion on my kids during summer because they don't like the sticky feeling but apparently, heat can cause dry skin din pala! With Belo Baby's Face and Body Lotion, it's very light on the skin and not sticky at all plus it's smells so good. It's safe to put it on your kid's face too! Y sees me putting cream on my face and she likes to imitate me by putting lotion on her face. I used to buy a separate lotion for her face, now I don't have to!
I also tried using the body wash and lotion on me too. I have skin eczema and it's really hard to find a mild soap that doesn't irritate my skin and won't cause any itch after bath. I am happy to say that with constant use of the body wash together with the body lotion, I haven't had any skin eczema flare-ups yet. I'm really glad I have found alternatives, no need to buy lotion or body wash abroad! Hooray for homegrown brands!

And because my family loves Belo Baby, I'm sharing the LOVE with you too so you can try out all the goodness Belo Baby offers! I'm giving away Belo Baby gifts packs to three (3) lucky readers! The Feeling of Lux Soft Touch + an Instagram Giveaway!

When I became a mom, bathroom time also became a luxury. I had to master the art of quick showers so I can tend to my kids right away. While I do get to have long showers once in awhile, quick showers can also be enjoyable with the company of a good body wash or soap! And for last night's quick shower, I got to try the NEW Lux Soft Touch Body Wash!
When it comes to buying or choosing a body wash or soap, one of first things I like to check is the scent. The Lux Soft Touch has a floral and fruity scent which what I really love! Since I have eczema and almost always use unscented or mild soap, sometimes it gets so boring! So I always have to have a bottle of body wash to switch it up.

I've been using the Lux Magic Spell for a while now and I'm happy to try the new Lux Soft Touch. From my experience, one bottle of Lux Body Wash can last up to three months which is a really long time giving you value for money.

Lux Soft Touch Body Wash SRP: Php55 for100ml and Php120 for 250ml.

To use, just pour a drop of body wash on your wash cloth/bath puff or on your hand and massage all over your body. The Lux Soft Touch is infused with French Rose and SilkEssence, it really smells so good!!! The freshness of the floral and fruity scent is just what I need in this heat! It's really a treat from my boring unscented soap.

I love it makes my skin silky smooth after bath!

The Lux Soft Touch's fragrance is expertly crafter by master perfumer, Calice Becker. The bar soap smells as good too but a little stronger than the body wash. I like that I have an option if want to use the body wash or the soap!

I like the super pretty design on the soap! Lux Soft Touch Bar Soap SRP: Php19.50 for 50g and Php39 for 100g.

With Lux Soft Touch, quick showers or long showers will always be enjoyable! It feels like summer with every bath. Promise! And you can win a gift pack of Lux Soft Touch for yourself by joining Lux's Instagram contest!
The mechanics are easy peasy! But first follow @luxph on Instagram, then...
1. Post a selfie.
2. Tell us why you love having fragrant skin.

3. Don't forget to hashtag #BatheWithLux and #LuxSoftTouch.

A&D Loves: Nestea Thai Iced Tea

I love milk tea! I wrote about it here. Sometimes I want to quit drinking those bubble teas because I want to diet na! But I don't think I can just yet. Heehee... I love milk tea!

I discovered Thai Iced Tea or cha-yen (as what they call it in Thailand) from my trip to Bangkok many years ago. From the minute I took a sip, I loved it! I was so happy when I saw Nestea produces powdered Thai Iced Tea at their grocery so I made pakyaw!
In Manila, you can drink Thai Iced Tea only when you dine in Thai restos. There's no powdered variant available in the market so when my achi asked what I wanted as pasalubong from Bangkok, I said Thai Milk Tea!!!
It comes in sticks likes this!
So last weekend, I got to taste it once again and shared the experience with the BOS! I cooked something Asian to pair with the drink. (Parang wine lang ang peg!)
Kung Pao!
I took out my brand new mason glass jars to use for this special drink haha!
If you have friends, relatives, officemates, or sino man yan who's going to Thailand, ask for this as pasalubong! Promise if you like milk teas and bubble teas, you'll definitely like this too! Pahinge ng pasalubong mo ha? :) Hehe...

A&D Reviews: Mustela Stelactiv Diaper Rash Cream

R has a very stubborn diaper rash. It comes, we treat, it goes but it was never fully healed. We change his nappies (both cloth and disposables) frequently but it still won't go away. It doesn't help that R likes to sleep on his tummy, his pee stays on his skin more and his rashes became so red, nakakaawa na. :(
So last Saturday after having lunch at Toast Box in Robinson's Place Manila, we stopped by the Mustela booth. I originally was going to buy the barrier cream but the Mustela lady (who was very nice and helpful) told me if the diaper rash is as grabe as ours, we should buy the Mustela Stelactiv instead then use the Mustela Vitamin Barrier Cream when his rash is fully healed.
From Mustela Philippines website:
Mustela Stelactiv is specially developed for moderate to severe diaper rash.

  • Creates a protective barrier on the skin
  • Neutralizes the irritant enzymes responsible for diaper rash due to the exclusive combination of 3 anti-enzymes
  • Purifies your baby's skin to limit bacteria proliferation
  • Rapidly and lastingly soothes the skin
  • High tolerance and hypoallergenic
  • Fragance-free formula that is free from artificial colorings and parebens
We are on our third day using it and it works like magic! As in! The redness faded after two applications. Hoping the rash would be fully healed this week! There's nothing like a smooth baby bum! Hehe!
They use brown paper bags, very eco-friendly!
What I liked about the Mustela lady was she knows her products well. Now, that's great customer service! She was also nice enough to give me some freebies to try like the barrier cream. Yay! And they're on sale til the 25th!
Mustela lady, didn't get her name :(
Here's what I saw on their FB Page:
1. Choose among our Gift Baskets and 5 new Christmas packages, with discount as much as 45% off!
2. Enjoy 10% off on individual products for cash purchases; 5% for card purchases.
3. Free Agua de Colognia 200ml cologne worth 750 pesos for every net purchases of 5,000 pesos.

Will go back this week to get that barrier cream!

I'm now a Mustela convert!

Mochi Mochi Mochiko!

My favorite of the moment! Yummy mochis! Too bad I'm not pregnant anymore, I don't have an excuse to eat all I want. Hehe..
1 box costs Php400 for 6 mochis. I bought vanilla, green tea, milk tea, cookie dough, coffee, and oreo & milk. Their azuki is also a best-seller buy hubby and I are not fans of red bean so I picked coffee instead. I think they also have mango, chocolate and chocnut flavors!
I already ate vanilla and milk tea which I both love. Cookie dough was so so. I'll have the green tea later! Can't wait to get my hands on another box of these yummy goodness!!!

Product Review: Candi Nail Polish Remover Wipes

I got this product from the package sent by the Tiny Buds people. Thank you again!

I was able to try this last January (ang tagal na!), I had my nails done for my shobe's wedding and I remembered I had this nail polish remover wipes. I've always used Sally Hansen or Face Shop's nail polish remover, they work pretty quite well for me.
I used Face Shop's nail polish!
Back to Candi, it came in a small round container. What I like about it is it's small, it fits in your pocket, handy, you can put it in your vanity bag and use it anytime and anywhere you want!
And here's how it looks when opened:
It contains 30pcs of small round wipes.
Verdict?
I found it hard to use it at first because of the size of the wipes especially when the nail polish you use is thick like the one I used above. I think it would be harder when you use a black nail polish. But if you use a light nail polish, removing it would be easy peasy with this wipes! With my hands, I used one wipe each hand. Same with my feet. So it's 4 wipes per usage!

I don't know how much it is selling at the market. But this is a handy item to put in your vanity kit! I hope this review helps you in some way!

In The Mail

A few weeks ago, I got a comment from Ms. Mara Mariano on my Tiny Buds Review post which I've posted a long time ago. Apparently, my review got to the Tiny Buds people and they wanted to send a complimentary bottle for me to try again. They said they have improved the product from its first batch.

And this is what I got in the mail last week! Tiny Buds Bottle Wash and their other products! Thank you Tiny Buds people! A re-review of Tiny Buds coming up and a review of one of their products!

Product Review: Tiny Buds Bottle & Utensil Wash

As a mom, I constantly look for new baby and mommy products to try. And one of them is Bottle/Nipple/Breast Pump Cleanser. I have used three brands of bottle cleaners since I started pumping and Y started bottle feeding.
I initially bought Cradle Bottle and Nipple Cleanser. It's made from natural and edible ingredients so it's very safe for babies. I bought the bottle with pump and just buy the refill pack when I used it up. It can also be used to wash fruits and veggies. I also have tried Pigeon Bottle Nipple and Vegetable Liquid Cleanser, I love this too! It's just more expensive than the Cradle. Just two to three pumps of Cradle or Pigeon on a liter or two of water, a few bottles, feeding utensils, breast pump, and you're good to go! Both are not 'mabula' but it cleans effectively! I like that it only has a mild scent.
The one I'm using now is Tiny Buds. I chanced upon this product from the last Expo Mom. I wanted to try another brand of bottle cleanser so when I saw this I bought it. It costs 250 pesos for 500ml. The lady selling the product told me that Tiny Buds Bottle Cleanser is a great product (sales talking me), it's more 'mabula' so one pump would be enough and it cleans more effectively. She said that their product will be available in Rustan's soon. They also have Rice Powder and Hand Sanitizer but I opted to buy this first to try out. It also has an apple scent like Cradle.
Twice the bubbles for deeper clean. Uhm, no it's not!

So when my yaya told me that the Cradle bottle is empty, I asked her to use the new Tiny Buds. I specifically told her to use one pump only as it is mabula daw. I never really checked the cleaned bottles before til the other day. While I was making breakfast, I notice my breast pump was blurry (malabo), some of the bottles were blurry and has a bit of milk residue. I thought my yaya was slacking off and not cleaning properly, so I told her about it. She said that she did what I told her to use one pump only, so I told her to make it two pumps. Now we're using three or four five pumps of Tiny Buds and it's still the same! It doesn't clean my bottles or pumps! "Hindi maganda yung bagong panlinis" she said. Sayang, I have high expectations pa naman from this product.
See those residue? Ugh..
I'm really really really disappointed! So, we're going back to Cradle. I just told her to finish the Tiny Buds bottle.
Fellow mommies, what bottle cleanser do you use?
