One of the things I truly enjoyed after getting married and moving in to a condo 6 years ago was buying anything for the kitchen. As simple as a spoon or a new set of pots was a source of happiness. Haha! Was it pregnancy hormones? Or maybe it was a start of my being a tita?
Fastforward to today, the kitchen remains to be one of my favorite in our home. I don't really cook well but I like our kitchen to be pretty and neat. I was obsessed with plates for awhile (a lot of my friends know this!), I've stopped buying because I don't have a place for them anymore. Now, I'm trying to declutter fix our kitchen yet again. I need new pans! But here's something that has been in my wishlist for so long, a new can opener!!! And I was so happy when I received a Tupperware's Can Opener in the mail!
Tupperware's Can Opener isn't your ordinary can opener. Say goodbye to accidentally cutting your finger from lifting up that stubborn lid. I've scratched and cut myself a few times and the cut is usually deep and really hurts. With Tupperware's Can Opener, it lifts the lid away from the can and leaves no sharp edges after opening!
It looks simple but don't be intimidated because it's actually easy to use.
What I learned from this can opener is that, not all cans are made the same pala! Some didn't work with this kind of can opener like a can of pineapple tidbits, I had to use the normal can opener. I tried the can opener on a can of pork and beans.
Put the edge of the can in between the two circles, put the handles together and wind it!
When you hear a click, that means you can already remove the lid. But I wasn't able to remove the lid the first time (not reading instructions kasi!), I had to wind the can again for a second time and used a knife to remove the lid. I felt disappointed then I watched the video (you can see it down down below) again and that's when I figured it out.
The can opener has a small clip in front which you can use to lift the lid. TADAHHHH!

Different cans have different lids. So far I've been very successful on opening our canned good except for a can of pineapples which I had a hard time using this can opener. But other than that, I love Tupperware's Can Opener! I still have to convince our helper to use this instead of our old one because I seriously want to throw our old one away na. Haha!

One of my dream kitchen appliance is a coffee machine, one big handsome machine! When I went home, I told BOS what I wanted to get. My wish list is now consists of home and kitchen appliance. We are truly growing up and becoming a tita! Haha! We both agreed we want to have an espresso machine! It may not be soon but it's definitely on our list!
Oh what fun is to... have renovations this December! We're currently squatting at my mom's house and it's getting really chaotic with all of our stuff and Christmas gifts scattered all around the house. I'm hoping (really really hoping) we can move back before New Year s my mom can have her peace and quiet back. Heehee!
I can't wait for our renovations to be done!
The renovation started in the middle of Y's exam week which made it a challenge when it comes to review time, I have to go up and down from our house to my moms for reviewer printing to reviewing Y. I did what I can and hope Y did her best. And with all the renovations and exams, it was also Christmas in Common Room! I had to restock three times in two weeks! I didn't complain because busy means blessing!

Each of the partners in Common Room made a dreamcatcher or two or three. I made one lang hehe! I used scrap baker's twine, paper straws and jute twine and added a few little balls I have at home. At first I didn't want to make one at all because I'm not really a crafty plus with all the holiday hullabaloo going on, I wasn't sure I was going to finish it but I did!
Mine looks like an art project beside the other dreamcatchers haha but I love it anyway! My sister told me it looked like the sawa firecracker! Haha kainis! It's up for sale by the way, if any of you wants to buy it. :)
Then Christmas get-togethers started as early as first week of December and it got busier as it nears Christmas. Good thing I finished gift shopping as early as November!
First Christmas dinner was with the titas! We planned it earlier because we all knew we will be busy with our families. We had a lovely dinner at Raffaele at The Bayleaf in Intramuros, prepared by Eli's brother Chef Carlo Santiago. You can read all about our dinner over at My Mom Friday's!
It was a super fun night! We brought our glass (2 for me haha) of wine to the roof deck to continue the fun and more chikahan!

And when it's the holidays, the eating never stops! I have to thank some friends who sent food and made their home our pick up point for some lechon belly! Yum!

Then there's Manila Belly! I have no photo of the lechon belly itself haha! But that Truffle Lechon Belly was sooo good! You must order this for every special occasion!
Later New Year's Eve dinner naman! Oh I can't believe 2015 is coming to an end! It was a great year and I'm looking forward to 2016 and moving back to our home! Heehee!
