A&D Eats: Our Mid Week Break at Kandle Cafe

The month of July was busier than my usual busy! In between tutoring Y and preparing Paper Chic Studio for the opening of Hello Manila (a new craft store near University Belt), I had to meet suppliers and pick up items I need for Paper Chic. Two weeks ago, I had to meet someone and I had two hours to spare but I didn't know where to spend that two hours! We were on our way to another coffee shop when we passed by Kandle Cafe and it immediately caught my attention because of the facade. It was calling me! So I made a U-turn and I'm happy I did!
Kandle Cafe is a third wave coffee shop located at 113 Mother Ignacia Avenue, Quezon City

I am not one to try out new places unless I've read or heard good reviews but Kandle Cafe obviously became an exception and it certainly didn't disappoint. I love the interior of the place so I took a lot of photos because I wanted to show BOS!
I love the industrial feel, the mix and match of furnitures, the brick wall and the big windows. Sabi ko nga kay BOS, peg ko ito for our sala.
Kandle Cafe also serves contemporary local dishes but I didn't know they do! They didn't give me any menu kasi, I only saw the menu boards which were only coffee and smoothies. I hope to go back soon and try their savory dishes!
We got a chocolate chip cookie, a double fudge brownie and their early grey chocolate mousse. Not sure with the names though. I wasn't happy with the mousse but my sweet tooth little girl finished it. Haha!
Strawberry Milkshake for the kiddos to share!
The brownie was served in a cup with caramel sauce! Sweetness galore!
Kandle Cafe is a instagrammable in every corner. Their Flat White is good ha!

They also have seats outdoor which is perfect for your weekend night tambay (kung hindi mainit!). Parang ang sarap magkwentuhan dito! Parang nice din for photoshoots no?
LOVE! BOS got a big spool like this. Peg for coffee table!
Kandle Cafe is one of the prettiest cafes I've been to! Visit Kandle Cafe in Mother Ignacia if you are in the area!

A&D Eats: Sweet Bella Cafe, Molito, Alabang

I rarely go to the South except when it's about vacation or FOOD! Heeheehee! Mish of Momma 'N Manila would always invite us the SoMoms to the South for a change naman but for some reason hindi matuloy -tuloy so when she invited us again for a field trip to Alabang for lunch at Sweet Bella Cafe then a play date na din with her kids, we finally said yes!  Patty and Sabine carpooled with us! Buti na lang din kasi I'm not familiar with the roads in Alabang!
Their signature pink boxes as the background. This the first floor. We had our lunch upstairs

I've been to the Sweet Bella in Burgos Circle and they only serve cakes and pastries so I was surprise to know that the Molito branch serves food! And I must say that the food blew me away!
Our super generous host, Veron Medina.
Ladies who lunch hehe! I also got to meet two lovely food bloggers: Kathi of Mucking Around Manila and Jane of Sugar and Spice who are seated beside Patty!
The kids's Table!

I like that they have kid-friendly dishes. Y ate a lot of the pasta and even asked for a second serving! That's a double success for me especially when Y is a picky eater. Here's what the kids had...
The winner Penne Carbonara
Five Cheese Pizaa
Pepperoni Pizza

And for us mommas...
Seafood Chowder. I can't forget this soup because it was filled with seafood talaga! Unlike other restaurants that serve a malabnaw or walang laman version.

Rockefeller Oysters
Capellini Truffle Pasta This was another winner dish for me! Tomatoes, eggplants topped with pomodoro and pesto. Just the perfect combination!

Gambas
Which goes well this bread
Grilled Salmon served with Mashed Potatoes and Creamy Lemon Butter Sauce
Beef Salpicao served with Steak Rice. This was tender and juicy! I didn't get to try the rice but it was good din daw!
Angus Ribeye Steak! Veron really spoiled us that day!

OMG! Busog to death! We were never served this much food ever! It was like a lunch for ten people and we were only six plus Nino, Mish's husband who joined us when we were about to be done with lunch! And just when we thought we had a super great lunch, Veron served us with desserts! May space pa ba? Of course there is always space for desserts!
Mangotier. Oven-baked cheesecake layered with mango mousse and fresh mango coulis.
Pearl. Light and refreshing pink guava mousse filled with flambeed Guimaras Mango.
Chocolata. Moist chocolate cake layered with rich ganache topped with chocolate glass.
Strawberry Shortcake. Strawberry cream layered with vanilla cake.
Mi Camille. Velvety Belgian Chocolate mousse layered with hazelnut praline and french biscuit on Almond Praline crust.
Trio. Layers of coffee mousse, dark chocolate mousse, and white chocolate mousse blended together for perfection.
Also got to try their hot chocolate which was oh so good!

I can't believe we had so much food that day that I didn't eat dinner anymore!
Thank you again Veron for having us and for being so generous and feeding us with so much food!
