How Kawaii Is #MYOH2016!

Summer is in full swing and wearing shoes is becoming a chore! All I want to wear are Havaianas kasi ang init!!! But there's something I am very excited about this April! Every summer for three years now, there's one event I always look forward to, it's the Make You Own Havaianas! You can check my posts on #MYOH from 2013, 2014 and 2015! This 2016, the theme is based on the Japanese "Shibori", know to be the oldest indigo dyeing techniques in Japan. Everyone has been going to Japan and this is just the perfect theme!
Shibori reminds me so much of the plates I collect no? I know many of my plate-collecting friends would love this year's theme too!

Did you know that the first ever flip-flop was inspired by the Zori? Zori is a type of Japanese slipper made of fabric straps and rice straw roles. On its 11th year, MYOH goes backs to roots!
Here's this year's commemorative pair! It's now available in Top and Slim sole! Ahhh I can't wait to grab a pair for myself! BOS wants one too!
Experience the land of the rising sun from April 22-24 at the Mega Fashion Hall at SM Megamall!

Of course, MYOH wouldn't be compete without the pins and the selection this year is kawaii! There's the Zori, Sakura, Robot, Ramen - my favorite, check out the pins below!

Are you excited yet? If you're outside Manila, no need to worry! Make Your Own Havaianas will be happening nationwide!

My #MYOH2014 Experience

This is my second year to join the Make Your Own Havaianas and I heard it gets bigger every year! This year's MYOH happened at the Glorietta 2 Activity Center.
Creating your very own pair of Havaianas is so much fun and exciting! I always look forward to the pins they release! This year I decided to get a Top because I got the Slim last year.
The wheel of fortune!!!
Yummy Soles!
The hardest part is choosing and deciding!

And while waiting for the event to start, chicka-chikahan portion muna with the SoMoms!
I love this photo of us! Feel na feel ko ang headpiece!

This year's opening program was so festive! Samba, Capoeira and other things that celebrate Brazil!
It was so festive!
And the chaos begun when it was time for "making" of the flip-flops na! As in! Good thing they have more assemblers this year than last year so I was able to get my pair  faster. Hehe! Only because I only 1 pair this year compared to 4 last year haha! Oh and my Havaianatico (Is that what they call the assemblers?) works fast!
Chaos!

Thank you Marga for making my MYOH 2014 pair! You were awesome!

I left right after getting my pair. I had two events that day and I had to pick up the kids at my sister's place. MYOH 2014 is truly one of the most festive events I had been to for 2014!
Thank you Janice for inviting the SoMoms and congratulations Havaianas for a successful #MYOH2014!
My #MYOH2014 pair!

If you'll be somewhere North like Ilocos Norted, #MYOH2014 will be at the Robinson's Laoag! Catch it while it's there!

Make Your Own Havaianas 2013

I had my very first Havaianas when I was in college. Forgot year what it was but it was such a craze that my sister and I had to buy a pair for each of us. My first Havaianas was a Fuschia Floral one with white straps. I still use it up to this day! So when our head momma Janice invited the SoMoms for the MYOH (Make Your Own Havaianas) 2013 media launch, we all couldn't pass it up! I was super excited as it was my first MYOH!
Upon entrance you'll see Havaianas flowers
There's a glow in the dark room before you enter the main hall
The big hot air balloon made of Havanainas was in the tent! Cool!   And a hot air balloon cake made by cupcakes by Sonjas!
Super cute mini cupcakes by Sonja's! Now I'm craving for one!
Wheels of Havaianas Slim and Top Styles
I was not prepared for this!!! When I saw the wheels of soles, I got so confused and overwhelmed! Yez, may ganon. I had a hard time choosing! Especially when I opened my little paper where you choose everything!
Diba nakakalito?

While I was busy deciding what to put on my pair of Havainas, DJ Callum was spinning for us.

There was a short program and after that, the moment we've all been waiting for! Making our own Havaianas!

After 20 years and bucket load of pawis (TMI hihi), it was finally my turn! I had 4 pairs made. Addict much? A pair for me, BOS, shobe and Ninang G! Nakakaloka! I was only getting 2 pairs lang talaga but in between texting, viber-ing, posting and replying to IG comments, my sister who's in Tarlac) and Ninang G (who's in Pangasinan) also wanted to have their MYOH! I was their fairy godmother for that night!
Me in my Havaianas while waiting for my Havaianas!
Here's what I took home:
Ninang G's Limited Edition Dan Matutina Havainas!
BOS's pair which he refuses to wear plus I got the wrong size hehe
My very first MYOH which I love to bits!!!
Thank you Creative Juice and Havaianas Philippines for my very first pair of MYOH! (Oh and the right pair is my shobe's MYOH!)

Oh and thank you also because this is the first night event of the #Somoms! Hihi!
