A&D Antipolo Eats: Eggs for Breakfast

Another weekend, another road trip! After Y's exam week, I needed my much deserved break. Ako talaga? Haha! We all needed a quick trip to enjoy ourselves, revisit a favorite and discover new restaurants and feed our soul. BOS has been wanting to go back to Antipolo to try Eggs for Breakfast and Vieux Chalet (next post!) and so we did last March.

We were choosing between Rustic Mornings and Eggs for Breakfast. Since we were all hangry na and Eggs for Breakfast was nearer, we had brunch here.
Eggs for Breakfast is located at Velada Estate, #21 Don Juan Street, Villa Cecilia Subdivision Sumulong Highway, Barangay Mambugan, Lower Antipolo, Antipolo, Rizal. Just Waze it! :)
Very instagrammable place!
The place looks like it's a part of a compound of events places, parang a guest house turned into a restaurant. It's a small cozy restaurant which can seat probably around 40? Before arriving at the cafe, I checked for reviews online and suggestions on what to order. I also always asked what's the recommended dish/es whenever we try new restaurants, so here's what we ordered:
BOS ordered Lemonade, Php40.
While I had their Flat White Php130. They served good coffee ha..

BOS had the One Pan Breakfast, Php470, which probably was the most sulit dish we ordered that morning. We all ate from Papa's Plate!
The kids shared this plate of Buttermilk Pancakes with Eggs and Bacon, Php280. It was just okay. Kids didn't finish them. The pancake was a bit bland. They like the fast food kind more.
I had the Eggs Benedict, Php330. It was good but nothing special. I really wanted to like it but it was just okay for me.

Verdict? Food was just okay. Price point is a bit high. Maybe I would have enjoyed our food if it wasn't so hot inside. Order the One Pan Breakfast if you are going to try Eggs for Breakfast, the others weren't as memorable.

Weekend with the Girls: Ate Our Way Through Hong Kong!

Last March, I traveled with my high school barkada for the very first time. First time in our 20+ years of friendship! It's one of the those spontaneous moments and the next thing we know, we're all booked and ready to go! I almost didn't make it to this trip because I didn't realize that my passport was already expired until about a week before our trip!!! Epic fail talaga! Mind you, our flight was booked last January pa! One night, maybe around first week of March,  I was taking a bath, shampooing my hair when I thought to ask BOS to check my passport if it's still valid. EXPIRED NA! Expired for 6 months na. OMG talaga! Parang lahat ng dugo ko pumunta sa ulo ko! I told my barkada about it and I was apologizing na baka hindi ako makasama!!!  I really wasn't expecting my passport to come out on time, I didn't pack pa because I didn't want to be disappointed.  Hay grabe, that was such a stressful week! Thank God for a friend who helped me get an appointment ASAP and I got my passport two days before our trip. Thank you talaga!!!
One of my barkada, Clarissa, is getting married on September and this was sort of a very early send-off/bachelorette party. Our goal was to eat, bond, eat, drink, sleep. Repeat for 3 days! No kids, no boyfriends, no husbands for 3 days. Woohoo!

It was my first time to stay in TST. I've been staying in Causeway Bay for as long as I can remember. It was a good change because I was looking into staying here too for our family trip on October and I need to know where are the good restaurants are, the MTR stations, bus stops, etc.
We stayed in Marco Polo Prince. Big room and beds!

We ate where our feet led us to. We followed Cindy's lead because she's the one who knows where the good food are in TST. We pooled money for our food so we don't have to split our bill every time we ate.

Chinese Kitchen Taiwan Beef Noodle
I thought they are serving Taiwanese cuisine based on the restaurant's name but they're not! They roast duck is really good! Everything was yummy or baka gutom lang kami haha!

Mak's Noodle
I was the one who wanted to try Mak's Noodle but I was disappointed. It's 42 HKD for a small bowl of Wanton Noodles. Inhaled it in 10 minutes. Not sulit!

After walking around Harbor City, we had a night cap at Aqua Spirit. We had three bottles of wine... we ordered the cheapest one on their menu. It was 699 HKD. Kaloka!!! Hahaha! Takip mata na lang kami, we were there to enjoy ourselves naman.
Of course we have to take photos for IG purposes hihi! A for effort lang!
It has been a really long time since I had a drink with these girls and I don't have to worry about driving home because we just walked back to the hotel!

On our second day, we went to Central. Window shopping lang and had high tea at Cova. I had one of the best Tiramisu I've ever tasted. They have a high tea buffet but the selection was not as good as the one in Harbor City so we just had their set and ordered Tiramisu and Lobster Sandwich.

Street Food
After Cova, we went back to TST and Jacq wanted to check out Etude House. Hindi ko na alam which area we were in TST. Maybe Granville? Haha! After shopping, we had our street food fix on in an alley beside Cotton On.
YUM!!!

Ka Ka Lok Fastfood Shop
And as if we weren't full from all the street food we ate, we had a late night run to Ka Ka Lok for some fried chicken and sausages and 7-11 for some beer! Fried chicken with beer, so bad yet so good! It's all take away so we ate it in the hotel.

Le Cafe de Joel Robuchon
Our 3D2N trip went by so fast! The most memorable and yummy (and most expensive haha!) food we had was at the Le Cafe de Joel Robuchon. Lahat masarap! Sorry not a food blogger talaga, I just enjoy food! Basta masarap siya for me.
So good that we finished everything! Worth every Hong Kong cent! Heehe!

This trip was one for the books! Thank you girls for the wonderful weekend! I hope there will be a repeat... but I can't promise it to be yearly hahaha! I'm sure BOS was relieved when I came home na!

A&D's Family Musts In Baguio

Sembreak na! Where are you taking your kids this vacation? BOS and I are still talking about our final plans but Baguio is at the topmost of our list on where to go this vacation. I can't wait to get out of the city to go to the Summer Capital and experience cooler weather. We've taken the kids twice to Baguio and we're always looking for new things to do and new places to eat. But first and foremost, a place to stay! We need to book a comfy, budget hotel in Baguio that's also kid-friendly.

I'm sharing my family's must-do's and must-eats whenever we are in Baguio.

1. Horseback-riding at Wright Park
This was 3 years ago, their first time in Baguio and first time to ride a real horse!
This is in every kid's itinerary, to ride a horse in Baguio. We've tried the 30 minutes and the 1 hour trail. If you haven't tried the 1 hour trail, it's actually nice because the kuya takes you around. Medyo masakit lang sa pwet. Heehee!

2. Eat Strawberry Taho
Only in Baguio! My kids and I love taho. We make it a point to eat Strawberry Taho whenever we are there. We found a vendor at Wright Park and Burnham Park.

3. Burnham Park
Burnham Park is one of the biggest parks (32.84 hectares) I've been to. There's a lot to see in the park, there's a skating rink, orchidarium, Igorot Garden, and more! We've only been to the man-made lake where we rode a boat and this bike park.

4. Mini Golf at Camp John Hay
This is one the activities my kids are looking forward to. They had so much fun last year!
There's also a playground right by it.

5. Bencab Museum
Take the time out for some art appreciation at Bencab and dine at Cafe Sabel. You'll never know you might bump into Sir Bencab himself.

6. Trip to the Market
I make it a point to visit the public market to buy veggies but during my last trip I hoarded coffee beans!

7. Chocolate de Batirol
A trip to Baguio is never complete without a visit to Chocolate De Batirol. A hot cup of chocolate is perfect in a cool weather. Pair with their native kakanin. So good! :)

8. Mt. Cloud Bookshop
Quaint little bookshop that my husband loves that he subscribed to their book subscription!

9.Cafe By The Ruins
My favorite restaurant in Baguio is Cafe By The Ruins! Love the ambiance, the food, everything! Hope this time we get to eat during lunch para maiba naman.

10. Shop and buy pasalubong!
Coffee, Strawberry Jam and a few kamagong kitchenwares were the few things I bought last year.

We're looking forward to our next visit to Baguio and check out new places, restaurants, and just relax and enjoy the cool weather. How about you? What's your Baguio favorite?
