The Pigeon Happy Cycle!

Pigeon was one of the brands of baby bottles my little cousins used when they were little. I remember them vividly as I always stay at my gwama's house every weekend when I was younger. And the brand stuck to me that when I was buying baby bottles for my babies, Pigeon was included in my list. And soon I discovered other Pigeon products that became my favorites like the breast pads, their line of baby wipes and the liquid cleanser!
A few week ago, I was invited to an intimate lunch along with fellow mom bloggers to the launch of Pigeon's Happy Cycle at Kimukatsu, Shangri-La Mall.
Pigeon's line of breast pump, baby bottles and more!

Pigeon’s system of care products ensures every mother a Happy Cycle of looking after the baby’s health and comfort. “Babies are truly bundles of joy, and Pigeon enhances this beautiful experience through the Happy Cycle,” says Maye Yao Co Say, Chief Operations Officer of Richwell Phils. Inc., the exclusive distributor of Pigeon in the Philippines.

Through Pigeon's line of baby feeding essentials, mothers and babies can experience the "Happy Cycle" and through their easy-to-use products that are designed to meet the "happiness quotient" of both mom and baby.
Expressing breast milk is the first step to the Pigeon Happy Cycle. Pigeon breast pumps and other breastfeeding accessories allow you to express your milk with ease.

The second step is the proper storage of breast milk. I personally have used these when I was still working and whenever I traveled. These were my best friend! Pigeon's breast care accessories consist of breast pads, breast care gel, soft silicone shield and nipple care cream.

Third step is feeding your baby. Pigeon Peristaltic Plus Nipple developed more than 50 years of research and study is one of Pigeon's best products. My kids used this nipple on their baby bottles.

The fourth and last step in Pigeon's Happy Cycle is cleansing and sterilizing. "Because babies have yet to strengthen their immune systems, they are more prone to disease and discomfort that may be caused by germs and bacteria", says Yao Co Say.
Pigeon Liquid Cleaner is 100% food grade. It is safe to clean baby bottles, nipples and for your fruits and vegetables. This is one of my favorite cleansers!
Pigeon Sterilizer  uses Japanese Technology in sterilizing your  bottles in 6 minutes  killing harmful bacteria effectively.

I'm sure of all of us moms understand the joy of having a healthy and happy child and Pigeon understands this fully well. Happy Cycle, Happy Baby!

During the lunch, we were also introduced to Pigeon's Sakura Baby Toiletries. I like to try new bath products for my kids. I alternate different brands on my kids and I'm excited to try the Sakura line!
Pigeon Sakura Baby Toiletries is developed with baby's delicate skin in mind. It is specially formulated for baby's sensitive skin.

It is free from harsh chemicals. It does not contain paraben, sulphates and coloring agents. It uses natural ingredients such as their signature Sakura extract renowned for its moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties. So mild and gentle, it is proven safe on baby's sensitive skin.
Excited to use these!!!

Thank you Pigeon Philippines for a great lunch and chika! I had a lovely time with my fellow mommies!

I'm a Philips Avent Trusted Mom!

Being pregnant the first time, you can get so overwhelmed with everything. Sometimes the pregnancy itself is already overwhelming. Another is when buying the baby's stuff. There's just so many choices! When I was pregnant with Y and was choosing what breast pump and bottles to buy, I did a lot of reading and research on what's the best brand to buy. And I chose Philips Avent!
My trusty Avent pump for 3 years!
I'm really honored that Philips Avent has chosen me along with other moms to be one of their trusted moms. My breast pump is one of the things helped became successful in breastfeeding while being a full time working mom! I did it for almost three years! I've chronicled my breastfeeding journey with Y, it's the reason why I started blogging. Here's one of  my favorite post!

Philips Avent is one of the world’s most trusted names in parenting. And after 29 years of understanding the needs of moms and their children, Philips Avent is launching their latest redesign of products aimed to combine breast and bottle-feeding in a way that is as close to nature as possible.
The Philips Avent New Natural Bottles takes pride in an extra-soft and anti-colic nipple. Unique comfort petals also make sure the nipple does not collapse during feeding. Plus, these bottles also feature a new ergonomic shape that makes it easy for both mom and baby to hold.

Philips Avent also wants to give moms total ease and comfort while breastfeeding. That is why the line of Comfort Breast Pumps is made to help any mother breastfeed for a longer period of time.

And here's my very own and brand new breast pump!!! I'm so happy!!!
It's so compact! Will do review soon!
I got to use the new pump for 2 weeks in the office. I'm still partial to my old Avent pump but I still like the new one.

I'm so excited for this new partnership! Not only for me but also for my readers! Double yay!

Pump It!

In about a month, I'll be going back to work (so sad!). I need to start stock expressed breast milk. After being hidden away at the back of the cabinet for 8 months, I welcome back my old friend, the pump, my Philips Avent Isis Duo!
And so I started pumping this week. Usually, lactation consultants/counselors would advise to start pumping at 6 weeks. But I started at 5 weeks because I have a binyag to attend on Sunday and I'll be ninang! I'm not sure yet if I'll be bringing R with me.

My first pumping session yielded 4oz which made me so happy! I don't remember having this much milk before with Y. I pump once a day because R nurses almost every hour and I only get to pump when R naps during noon or at night when he sleeps longer.
I have now 23oz 27oz in the freezer! Yay!!! Will order mommy treats next week to boost my milk supply!

On Buying Spare Parts for My Avent Isis Duo

Due date is just around the corner!

It's been weeks now since I've been contemplating whether to buy spare parts for my Isis Duo here or in the US. I've already bought the valves and duckbills at Amazon but I still need the petal massager and Isis handle and cover so I can return the one my officemate lent me (mag 2 years na sa akin yon!) and at the same time, buy new parts for her too.

I initially checked Philips USA parts and accessories shop website to check out the prices so I can compare with the distributor's price here.

Here's the list of the things I need, plus the price, and shipping fee. Converted to peso, it will be around Php3,000 without shipping to Manila yet.

Then I called LJS (local distributor of Philips Avent) to compare prices.
Isis Petal Massager - Php300/pc
Plastic Isis Handle - Php500
Isis Pump Cover - Php300
Tubing for Isis Duo - more or less Php1,200 (though out of stock)

When I computed, it would be roughly around Php2,700. Almost the same lang and I can get it at their office without having to wait for it.

Now, I need to go schedule leave and go to their office on a weekday (because they're not open on Saturdays).

Conclusion? Buy spare parts here in Manila for your Avent breast pumps! But their retail prices for bottles, breast pumps, etc are way way higher! So buy those in SG (during baby fair or expo) or buy in the US.
